The 2022 Jeep Cherokee will offer two engine options: a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and a 3.2-liter V6. Both engines will be paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine will produce 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The 3.2-liter V6 engine will produce 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque.

The V6 engine is standard on the Trailhawk model of the Jeep Cherokee, and those drivers looking for the ultimate in performance often choose this model for its powertrain and off-road capability. In fact, the Trailhawk offers a suspension that increases the ride height of the Jeep Cherokee and all-terrain tires make sure that drivers get through all types of terrain in the Jeep Cherokee. Front- or all-wheel drive is available with any model of Jeep Cherokee, however.

The Jeep Cherokee will have a towing capacity of 4,500 pounds with the 2.0-liter engine and 5,000 pounds with the 3.2-liter engine.
